I wish I could tell you that it’s 70 degrees outside right now and my spring dresses don’t need any layers. That would be a lie. It’s been 50-60 degrees here in LA and raining. I’m not going to cry about it. But spring is just around the corner and I just can’t contain my excitement to dress for the new season! Therefore I’ve had to find different ways to transition my looks from winter to spring.
How to Dress for Spring When It’s Still Cold Outside
How to Dress for Spring #1: Wear Lighter Colors
I’ve packed away my dark winter hues and switched them out for lighter colors like this white coat and hat. Funny story about this white coat, I almost gave it away last year and I am so glad that I didn’t. It’s tres chic! I just dressed it up with a few tips I shared in my video on How to Style a Winter Coat.
How to Dress for Spring #2: Spring-Inspired Accessories
Nothing says spring like flowers + pastel colors. Add them to where you can such as on jewelry, handbags, scarves, and shoes! This little white bag has the cutest floral embellishments and it’s my go-to spring bag every single year for the past 3 years! I was originally terrified of purchasing a white bag, but with careful care, it’s kept it’s shape and color fabulously and matches a lot of different spring + summer looks.
Another trend I am very happy that is staying around for spring is anything pearl embellished. I bought these pearl studded boots last fall and they’re going to go perfectly with a lot of my spring looks as well. Multiple uses = great investment 😉
How to Dress for Spring #3: Pretty Spring Makeup
This last tip is more make-up inspired, but it goes with the entire spring look. Instead of a dark colored lipstick, switch it out for a pop of pink on your lips. It lets people know you’re aware it’s spring and they wont think you’re still stuck in the dark dreary ages of winter.
