The first day of Style Fashion Week was absolutely incredible. I got to see old friends and meet new ones. Style Fashion Week is held at the Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. I swear I might get married there. It is this beautiful old cathedral that has been renovated into a huge event space. Just walking in and seeing the runway stretch through the middle and rows upon rows of seats gets my heart racing. What can I say, LA Fashion Week is finally here and I have been waiting for this since October! My fashion partner in crime, Steven and I sat front row to watch the first slew of designers: Gregorio Sanchez and Beso Moda. Gregorio’s fall pieces were amazing! I loved the entire collection and thought how perfect his pieces would be for Paris Fashion Week this fall (although I am not going until next fall I like to plan way ahead!
The third designer of the night was Ins Soltani. The show began with a ballerina and a violinist. A performance close to my heard since I figure skated for 9 years (a ballerina on ice) and also played the violin. You learn something new about me every day. The pieces looked like they might have been hand crotched. My favorite piece was definitely this red silk floor length down with a leather harness. I guess this S&M trend is starting to make its way through other designers after BCBGMAZAZRIA. I actually saw them steaming the red dress when I visited backstage and knew it was a favorite of the night right then and there. If you ever get a chance, I highly suggest you visit Style Fashion Week. It is one of my favorite events of the season!
