This past Saturday I spent a few hours at the Grove taking in a Simply Stylist Session about the business of blogging hosted by fellow blogger Sydne Summer. Attendees were treated to an inside look as to what it take to make a blog a successful business. We learned about everything from how to grow your traffic on your website, to social media tips and how to build a proper media kit. I have been to a few other Simply Stylist events (here and here), but this may have been my favorite yet because I learned so many things to apply to my own blog. For example, it is worth it to spend the money to have an attorney look over any contract before you sign it. This may have you a lot of headache, time and money in the long run!
Even after 3 years of blogging, I firmly believe that you can never stop learning. Some may find that even after they make it to full time, learning experiences like this are unnecessary due to the belief that they already “know it all.” There is always a way to work smarter, not harder. Learning from other’s mistakes and their successes can help make you better equipped to succeed in your own blogging endeavors.
If you are in Los Angeles, check out upcoming sessions on SimplyStylist.com with hashtag #SessionsatTheGrove. Simply Stylist also holds conferences in Chicago and NYC! My goal is to speak at one of these sessions someday. I actually enjoy public speaking and teaching others about what it takes to make a successful blog. Especially while simultaneously working a full-time job!
As fore my outfit… I was happy to be able to pull out my Stuart Weitzman boots one last time before summer. However, if this weather here in LA does not warm up soon, I may just be wearing them a while longer. Thank’s for reading everyone. I hope you all have a lovely Memorial Day weekend!
Love it! The shoes are amazing!!
