RITZ CARLTON RANCHO MIRAGE REVIEW
Last week the girls and I decided to take a post-holiday getaway to the Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage. It was just what I needed to reset my mental health after a grueling start to the new year with no motivation and the flu.
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with champagne and an unbelievable candy bar in the lobby (12 to 5 pm in case anyone loves candy!) We got a tour of the property and took in all the beauty that it has to offer: fire pits, two heated swimming pools (one for adults only and one for everyone), jacuzzis, a spa, two restaurants, and a boutique! That is what I love about hotels like the Ritz Carlton, they go above and beyond to make sure you’re always well taken care of.
Our room was super cozy with a beautiful view of both palm trees and the snow-covered mountains. We got dinner drinks and dessert in the Club Lounge. Totally worth adding on to your stay by the way! The Club Lounge has a never-ending supply of beverages, a bar, and different food options throughout the day. From breakfast to dinner, everything was delicious. The girls and I got cozy by the fire enjoying a glass of wine and watching the clock tick to 8 pm when they set out dessert.
I slept like a baby after we had stayed up till midnight talking the night away and ordering french fries at midnight. I woke up to Liz poking me to get up and get ready for a day of shooting photos. That’s the thing about being a blogger- you’ve got to make time to shoot some photos! First, we had breakfast in the Club Lounge again. I swear I could have lived in this room! Always something yummy to eat. After breakfast, we got ready to shoot photos. I love this part about blogger trips- watching the girls pull out the most fabulous dresses and accessories from their overstuffed suitcases and watching our hotel become a giant dressing room with every color of the rainbow imaginable. It’s like a big girls version of dress up and it will NEVER get old. It’s also fun because we’ll swap bags and accessories. I ended up witha little gold Gucci for the day courtesy of Ms. Keene.
It was the perfect weather to shoot by the pool. Not too hot and the heated pool made for a nice dip. The bartender at the Air Pool Bar made us the prettiest drinks (6 in total) that we got to share. I was obsessed with the hotel’s french fries and ordered more. After a full day of shooting, we claimed our cozy spot by the fireplace in the Club Lounge and unwound with a Southern-inspired seafood dinner.
We were so comfortable that we spent the evening and ordered dinner from State Fare, one of the hotel’s restaurants on the property. The girls and I shared the filet mignon and it was divine. I can still close my eyes and imagine the savory steak on my tongue. Another night of sleeping like a baby happened after that. I didn’t realize just how much the stress had been affecting my sleep at home. After two nights at the Ritz and I felt myself again.
Our last morning there the girls and I got deep tissue relaxation massages at the Ritz Carlton Spa. This place is breathtaking and everyone working there is so lovely. I rarely fall asleep during massages because my mind is racing with so much to think about. I was out cold within 5 minutes of this massage. Afterwards, the girls and I enjoyed a dip in the hot tub accompanied by giant rubber duckies, a visit to the Eucalyptus infused steam room, an exfoliating shower (you can choose one of 3 different scent experiences) and of course, lunch in the Club Lounge.
As we were packing up we just weren’t ready to leave so we had a quiet dinner at the State Fare Bar + Kitchen. We ordered the calamari, a few cocktails, the street tacos, a poke bowl and sherbert ice cream for dessert. Our New Year’s resolutions to eat healthy really went out the window on this trip. But it was such a great way to start out 2018 and I wish more than anything I was back there right now with Mandy and Liz just hanging out and having fun. We’ll be back soon. I’m sure of it 😉
HOpe you enjoyed this Rancho Mirage review as much as we enjoyed staying there! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!

Laura
