Happy Monday everyone! Last week I decided to relax a bit with a midweek getaway to one of my favorite California cities – Palm Springs!  You may have noticed an influx of pretty scenery all over my Instagram feed. That’s because Azusa and I stayed at the most charming Luxury Palm Springs Vacation Home called Pretty in Pink. Every inch of this gorgeous four bedroom, four bathroom restored mid-century executive villa is photogenic. It has a view of the mountains in the front of the house from the private gated salt water pool and a view of the 18 hole golf course in the back.

Each room has so much character with coordinating colors. It is easy to tell that a lot of thoughtful detail was put into this lovely villa. I had the pleasure of staying in the master suite in a cozy king size bed fit for a queen. My favorite room was the living room because of the blush pink toned furniture, the view of the pool on one side and the view of the golf course on the other.  My second favorite spot was the colorful bar conveniently located right next to the giant kitchen.  There is a fire pit and a grill out back with lots of cozy couches and even a mini golf turf. After dinner, we would sit out by the fire pit roasting s’mores and looking up at the stars. The entire stay just really put me at ease.  During the day, we would relax in the pool with our new unicorn friend, Pinky as we named her since she perfectly matched the vibe of the house.

This was my second stay with one of Acme House Company. Last year I stayed at their Enclave in the Sun property for my birthday and absolutely loved it! Their service is like no other. Honestly, they make each stay like a home away from home.  We were even given our own personal concierge in case we needed anything!

I definitely want to rent the Pretty in Pink house for my birthday next year and spend the weekend with a few of my closest friends. I’ll fill the pool with fun floaties and maybe set up a net to play some volleyball/badminton in the pool. Then the ladies can order in masseuses while the guys go play golf and at night we can have a night on the town in Palm Springs.

We tried out a few different restaurants during our stay. Since it was just the two of us and it was the off season, we didn’t need a reservation anywhere. (Double check the hours since a lot of places close around 9 pm during the weekdays and all together for a summer break in July.) Here are the places we ate:

FARM: Excellent for breakfast/lunch. Azusa and I ordered their fruit and banana French toast. Honestly- the best French toast I have ever had. I wanted to go back again the next day! (Closed on Wednesday’s!)

Lappert’s Ice Cream: They have the BEST Dole Pineapple Float. It’s better than Disneyland’s because you get more for the price. Although the line can get a bit long around dinner hours.

Las Casuelas Terraza: Great Mexican restaurant right on North Palm Canyon Drive. Try their chunky guacamole for sure. Everything on the menu is delicious. We didn’t have room to try the deep fried ice cream, but I will next time for sure!!

Pepper’s Thai Cuisine: If you like Thai food, Pepper’s is a good spot. They offer pretty spicy dishes. Azusa asked for a 3 out of 5 and got a nice little kick, so I can’t imagine what their 5 must be like.

Lulu’s California Bistro: A good spot for large groups. During the off season, it’s  easy to get a table. Their food is nothing special, but not-bad if you’re hungry. We ordered their breakfast omelets with potatoes.

I keep hearing great things about Cheeky’s so next time I am in Palm Springs I definitely want to try that place. (They are closed for summer vacation until mid- August.)

Also, I wanted to give a special shout out to Courtney and Jennifer for making me all glam for my trip. We stopped by the Ohana Salon and Dry Bar in Redlands on our way to Palm Springs for a blowout and spray tan and I will definitely be making a stop there each trip out to the desert!

  1. What an amazing house! Regardless of the “pink” motif, my guy friends and I may have to look into renting this house, or one of the other properties, owned and managed by Acme House Company. Looks like they really create a great atmosphere for their guests, so thanks for the tip… And I love all of your posts! Keep up the fantastic work.
