Often times when I am looking for inspiration for a new post, I look through old photos on my blog. It is crazy to think I started it only 5 years ago. My style has changed so much over the years. For example, I used to gravitate towards bright, sometimes neon, colors and big statement jewelry. Now my style is much more refined. I like more elegant jewelry, neutral colors, and form-fitting styles. It’s been an interesting process as I clean out my closet. (Pssstt, I’m selling items on Poshmark. My username is @LauraLily.
The outfit I am wearing in the photo above is one of my absolute favorite outfits of all time. From the way the different textures come together to everything being a shade of my favorite color, purple. Had I gone to Fashion Week that year this look definitely would have come with me. This dress, although simple, made for the most magnificent black and white photos. I shot this with Tony in Downtown Los Angeles. I explained to him how I wanted to bring this dress to life in a black and white photoshoot, it was as if he had read my mind. He so eloquently captured what I was trying to portray. I volunteered at a charity auction and they let me choose one item from the racks. It was love at first sight for this Love and Lemons sheer dress. Such a sexy, yet elegant, number. Full post here.
Another example of a look that presents me today. Sexy, classic, sophisticated. I love this outfit and all it’s coordinating pieces together. I didn’t have any favorite outfits that involve a dress so I figured I would share one that includes some pants. Flare jeans to be exact, because I love the way the accentuate curves. This look also brought together a lot of beautiful fall colors: navy, olive green, and burnt orange. Definitely, a style I can wear over and over again. More photos on this look here.
