Recently, I had the honor of attending the first Los Angeles Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala. This marvelous event was held at the beautiful Pasadena City Hall and featured designers from all over the world including the Philippines, Milan, and Mexico. Many of the designers specialize in costume. The amount of detail and thought that went into their pieces was extraordinary.
For this special black tie event, I wore none other than a BCBGMAXAZRIA gown I lusted for months ago and finally found for a fraction of the price on Ebay. I love everything about this dress, the fiery red color, the corset bodice, and the flowing high-low hem. I thought about keeping the accessories simple to let the dress shine, but it is so bold on it’s own I knew I could wear a few statement pieces. The necklace is from Eva Mendes’ collection for New York & Co. I received it in a gift bag at the Vogue Runway Retreat lounge during NYFW. As soon as I laid eyes on it that it would be perfect for this strapless dress. The black elbow length gloves added a bit glamour and a small gold box clutch was my final accessory. What do you think of my outfit?

My favorite designer of the night was Rocky Gathercole. His collection was walking art. Glee actress Becca Tobin (below) was wearing one of his designs that night. I literally wanted to steal it off her body it was so beautiful.
