Day 3 of Mercedez-Benz New York Fashion Week
The day started off with the Herve Leger and Mara Hoffman runway shows, a Lulu’s party and the best new york dinner a girl could ask for. It was a night straight out of the best TV show ever- Sex and the City.
If I had to pick a favorite outfit of mine from Fashion Week, this look may be the winner. My $50 faux fur coat from Ebay and over-the-knee boots kept me warm. The combination of different textures and prints, plus the layering of different pieces were visually appealing and bottom line… I felt fabulous. I was also featured on the StyleList !! Definitely getting into fun purple eye shadow. What do you think of this color?
For my hair, I wanted to do something out of the box and tried out a double pony tail. Thank you wind for messing it up.
My favorite show of New York Fashion Week was definitely the Herve Leger show. One because I sat right across from my blogger idol Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad and two because each look that came down the runway took my breath away. The famous Herve bandage dresses had new twists to them- studs, cutouts, fringe (we love the fringe!) The harnesses are still present- personally I am not a fan, but I do like the cage effect that is becoming popular as seen on the dress above. This collection was the perfect combination of sexy and power.
Top and bottom photos: There were my two absolute favorite looks from this collection.
The Mara Hoffman show was another stunner. For her fall collection, she still managed to incorporate so much color and beautiful tribal detailing. (The show last year was incredible too.) The gold arm cuffs definitely caught my attention and the amount of sequin and beaded detail, I cannot even imagine how long that took. It was absolutely beautiful.
Saturday night we attended the Lulu’s party and had the best dinner at Patsy’s Pizzeria on 23rd and 8th Ave (speaking like a real New Yorker now.) The girls (Elizabeth, Roxy, and Kier) and I shared appetizers, bottles of wine, entrees and of course pizza. Around closing, the manager presented us with yet another bottle of wine on the house and every dessert on the menu. Best service ever and I will definitely be making a trip back there on my next visit to New York City. We ended the night at the Empire Hotel rooftop bar. It was bittersweet because I was having so much fun with my girlfriends, looking down at Lincoln Center where all the Fashion Week magic happens and realizing it was my last night in NYC.
