Laura Lily Birthday

Today I am officially 28 years old! Another year wiser, another year more me. Every year I treat myself to a birthday outfit. Last year it was a full floral skirt and sexy back top (see the look here.) This year I chose a more sophisticated and sexy ensemble to compliment my new life at 28. This black wrap dress happened to catch my eye as I walked past a boutique in Hermosa Beach called Salvatore’s. It was one of those dresses I knew I was going to buy before I even tried it on. It was $48 and also comes in a nude color at the store if anyone is interested. I found a similar version online for the same price here.

As Azusa and I were shooting this look, I started thinking about all the changes that have happened in my life in the last year. I am becoming more of the person I have always wanted to be. A strong, independent, woman full of love who enjoys life to the fullest. I become less and less concerned every year with what other people think of me. I have said it a million times and I am not afraid to say it again, I do not mind getting older. The slower metabolism, more difficulty staying up late and even harder time getting over hangovers kind of sucks sometimes. But the vast knowledge of the world, people, and myself that I have learned over the past year and throughout my 28 years is priceless. I see the world completely differently than I did when I was younger. If I had the chance to re-live my younger years, I am not sure that I would.
