The art of how to layer clothes is easy to learn and takes your outfit to another level of fabulous. So I’ve dedicated today’s post to share how to master the art of layering. My favorite looks always seem to involve a few layers. Take this outfit, for example. It features layers that are cohesive and interesting: the detailing on the sweater, the textures of the skirt. Here are a few ways to get a fun layered look
HOW TO LAYER CLOTHES – 3 TIPS
1. Choose a color palette
You can go monochrome (aka all one color like this outfit) or a range of colors.
2. Stick with one or two textures
What I mean by “textures” are the different kinds of fabrics. For example, this look has both a flannel and vinyl texture within the skirt. So I’ll keep the other textures of the look pretty simple and smooth.
3. Pick one or two pieces to stand out
Don’t overwhelm your look with too much. I like to pick just one or two attention-grabbing pieces. For this look, it’s again the skirt and the sweater with those amazing bell sleeves!
