Over the weekend I had a mini weekend getaway at the Hotel Bel Air with Kier. It was great getting to spend quality time with one of my closest friends and fully relax. Our little stay-cation was exactly what I needed after weeks and weeks of running around.
The weather on Saturday cooperated enough to let me pull out my bikini in the middle of winter in LA and soak in the hot tub.
Saturday night we started off with drinks in the lounge. Next, dinner at Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel Air. Everything was delicious. I couldn’t stop eating! Our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything special and we told him it was our three year anniversary. Three years ago, Kier and I found each other through Lookbook.nu and met at the Fairfax flea market for our first meeting. Three years later she is one of my dearest friends.
Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs for dessert. The waiter brought us fresh cookies, ice cream sandwiches and an apple strudel with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate frosting. Kier has the photos. I’ll post it as soon as she sends it to me so that you guys can see how cute it was.
The next morning we ordered room service and watched the rain fall as we laid around in super cozy bathrobes.
Thankfully Kier is always down for a massage. We had a couples massage and 15 minutes in Kier was snoring. LOL. This girl cracks me up even when she is asleep!
It is amazing how good massages make you feel. Just completely relax and unwind. I took full advantage of the waterfall shower and sat in the steam room for a bit. My skin felt amazing afterward. Together with the amenities they had available (beverages and treats while you wait) to the decked out women’s changing area, I will say it was the best spa experience I’ve had thus far in my life. Hopefully, there will be plenty more to come 😉
After the spa, we made our way to brunch where I ordered pancakes (delicious) and listened to a live guitarist play whatever we requested. Definitely a nice touch to the morning.
As we were sitting there, I spotted Princess Beatrice walk in and sit down. I am rarely star struck. Living in LA I do not see very many celebrities (I must be blind or oblivious), but I will say that having brunch a few seats away from a Princess was pretty awesome and a highlight of my weekend. Sorry guys, I didn’t get a picture because I didn’t want to bother her and I didn’t want to get kicked out of the hotel.
I wasn’t ready to leave when we finally checked out. I could have stayed another few days. But I was so glad that I was able to spend that precious time with Kier and fully relax over the weekend.
Now I feel refreshed and ready to tackle the work week.
