A recent Friday evening I attended the LifeStyle Network Fashion Show with Alexis Monsanto and Jay Nicolas Sario at the Legendary Park Plaza Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I had seen Alexis’ collection at last year’s Style Fashion Week and just loved his work. Think Parisian chic with lots of bold color- just how I like it!
This sequin Asos dress was the perfect choice for the event. A glittery mix of sex appeal and lady-like sophistication with the mid-calf length. I had seen this dress months ago and even had it on my wish-list as I watched the price dip from $200 to $150 and eventually at a price I felt comfortable spending. The style of the dress is formal and I plan to get a few uses out of it for years to come. I wore my hair in a bun to show off the beautiful backless detail of the dress. I would have worn silver heels instead of black, but they did not arrive in time. What do you think of my outfit?
Going to fashion shows is one of my favorite feelings in the world. Everyone getting dressed up in their most fashionable ensembles. The rush of adrenaline as the models begin walking down the runway. Seeing the designer gleam after a successful show as he or she walks down the runway. Such a fantastic feeling.

When they announced his Alexis Monsanto’s collection was inspired by the Great Gatbsy I almost teared up with happiness. I absolutely love the glitz and glamour from the art deco era. I wish I could dress like everyday is a party. The collection was amazing! I tried to capture as many details as I could for you all. Maybe I will ask Alexis to help me design my wedding dress someday…
Models after the show. Accessories for the Monsanto show were by Charlie Lapson Collection and the shoes were Wild Rose.
Entrance to the beautiful Park Plaza Hotel. I love old buildings. This one was built in 1923 as a lodge then made into a luxury hotel. Now everything above the 3rd floor is closed off and the ballrooms are used for weddings, parties, etc. Steven, Franz and I managed to sneak past these gates without being noticed and go up to the 4th floor where they had an old gymnasium set up. Sneaking around an old hotel with an iphone flashlight that is low on battery and in high heels is not something I suggest doing, but boy was it fun!
