DIY Valentine’s Day Garland
I love an easy DIY home decor project that can be completed in one afternoon. This DIY Valentine’s Day Garland is just that. The entire project took about 30 minutes and you can make the garland as long or as short as you’d like!
Supplies needed:
- old book ( I got mine from a thrift shop for $3.)
- scissors
- tape
- yarn/string
- ruler
- heart-shaped stencil/cookie cutter or make your own with cardboard
Step 1: Start by cutting out pages of the book to use. Then trace the hearts on those pages (as many as will fit.)
Step 2: Cut out the traced hearts, as many as you think you’ll need to make the length of your garland.
Step 3: Tape the cutout paper hearts to the string putting them as close or as far apart as you would like. My hearts were approximately 7 inches apart. You can use a ruler to space them evenly apart.
Step 4: Finally, once your garland is as long as you would like, cut the string leaving room to tape it to a surface and hang wherever you would like! If you prefer a video tutorial you can check out my step-by-step Instagram reel here.
Here is the finished product on my Fireplace mantel. Check out more of my DIY projects here.
As always, thank you for stopping by!
