Everyone knows I love anything that involves sequins and glitter. I also love shoes. Add my love for crafts and DIY projects and voila! What do we have? DIY glitter shoes!!!! Now I really wish I could create more DIY posts, the thing is I am just short on time and attention span. I have literally 100 projects that I have started and never finished- but someday, I will have my own craft room in the house and commit myself to finishing each one and taking pictures along the way as I go to show all you lovely people.
But one step at a time. So for us to begin to create a pair of lovely glitter shoes, here is what you will need:
- Heels
- tacky glue
- 2 foam brushes (so you don’t have to mix the glitter colors)
- tape
- 2 colors of glitter
- Adhesive spray or hair spray (optional- but a good idea as we are dealing with glitter)
- Approx. 1 hour
First: Tape off the section of the toe. Make sure both heels are even.
Second: Apply the tacky glue with the foam brush to the toe. Spread evenly and then apply glitter.
P.S. Don’t forget to take off the inside seal of the glitter.
While I waited for the toe to dry, I began applying the glitter to the body of the heel with the second foam brush to avoid mixing the glitter colors. Apply glue evenly.
A work in progress….
Third: Remove the tape. If the glue has dried, use an exact-o knife to make sure the dried glue is not pulled up with the tape. If you pull the tape off while the glue is still wet, you might not have a problem.
Lily sat and watched my progress in between naps full of snoring.
Fourth: This step is optional but I recommend it to keep the glitter in place- spray with adhesive or hair spray. Let dry. Be careful not to kick your shoes on anything as glitter likes to get on EVERYTHING.
Ta-da! Your very own glitter cap-toe heels!!
I decided to cover the heels with glitter. You could do silver here too. Or just leave the heels without glitter.
There you have it, your very own glitter cap-toe heels!
Love this! I want to try it out but I’m afraid it’ll be one of the many projects I never finish. I like that you decided to add glitter to the heels as well! When it comes to glitter more is more!
stunning!! so cool you did it yourself !!

Thanks Jules! It wasn’t too difficult either, just takes some patience. 🙂
