Desk Makeover + Giveaway

Spring cleaning has got me re-doing all kinds of decor around the house. One particular spot that was in desperate need of a makeover was my desk. For months it was a dumping pile for mail, receipts, photos, etc. It was ugly to look at and scary to touch. Finally I decided, “Laura – you can’t make your office at the dining room table. Your roommate needs a place to eat and it’s too close to the kitchen. You’re constantly distracted by food just a few feet away.” So with a bit of organizing and a little help from Papyrus, I finally got my work space in order.

It is always good to have little notes on hand to write thank yous or just to keep in touch with your pen pals. My best friend from high school and I still write each other letters to stay in touch. We even sign them with our high school nick names!  I have a box of them I have collected over the years. It is fun to see the different stationary. These scalloped note cards are my current favorite.

   

One thing that can quickly clutter up a space are small things like paperclips and tacks. So I decided to store them in this beautiful butterfly box. It also adds a nice pop of pink to my space.

   

I went back and forth between hanging an inspiration pin board above my desk and this picture. Eventually I chose this picture because I wanted my work space to be a bit more sophisticated and less crowded. It was also given to me by my grandmother. We have the same taste in a lot of things so it is fun to have things passed down from her.

      

Usually I have a refreshment on my desk. My favorite wine glass came in this little box. It has come in handy to store post-it notes and miscellaneous items.

      

These hustle coasters are from Bauble Bar. They are a constant reminder to keep hustling to make my dreams come true. Plus they are my favorite color and keep me from getting ringlets on my furniture.

 

Candles make great decor pieces and make the space smell nice. This one is vanilla scented and etched with 100 reasons of love. (It is also on sale!!!)

   

Deciding on the color palette for this space was simple. I knew I wanted it to match the rest of my bedroom – white, neutral, beige.
