Chinoiserie Home Decor

Chinoiserie (pronounced sheen·waa·zr·ee) is one of my favorite decorating elements. You may recognize it better by its other term “ginger jar.” Chinoiserie is a French word and comes from the term: the imitation or evocation of Chinese motifs and techniques in Western art, furniture, and architecture, especially in the 18th century.

I have a few chinoiserie items in my home including lots of vases and even a pretty dishware set I got on Amazon. This set is also stunning. I just purchased an outdoor garden stool that I plan to use as a side table on my patio that can easily be seen out of with my top down, bottom-up blinds from Affordable Blinds.
