Day 2 of our to Chicago may have been my favorite. We spent the day in Wicker Park- the hipster land of Chicago. We had lunch at Big Star– a cash only taco joint that makes a taco to-go in a Frito Lays chip bag. I know it sounds weird, but it is actually quite tasty.
Then drinks at a bar called Rodan. We got to know the bartender who is actually an amazing chef! He brought us out tow of his signature dishes to try- a duck spring roll with homemade peanut sauce and the most delicious glazed ribs. Look for them in the next Chicago Rib Festival 😉
While the boys went to a 21+ arcade/bar- I got to spend the afternoon vintage shopping at all the best stores in Chicago. I must have gone to 5 different stores and came home with two gold brooches and three plaid jackets. See a theme going on here? I had been craving a good vintage shopping spree and this trip was perfect. I’ll post the items I scored soon here on the blog, or you can see them on my Instagram @Laura__Lily.
We had dinner at a bustling Italian restaurant called Quartino where you literally have to make a reservation days before, know someone, or hover over a table until they leave. Totally worth it though. Wine, appetizers, three entrees and the bill wasn’t even over $100.
Thank you for reading! What do you think of the new blog design so far?
