Camping in Temecula with Ride Wild and Backcountry
Last month I had the immense pleasure of joining my sister and her Ride Wild team on a campout in Temecula, California. The campsite is located on a 35-acre farm known as Paseo del Lagos. A pristine spot just down the street from multiple wineries. There were all kinds of farm animals across the man-made lake from our campsite. We even got to meet a few of them including Jazzy the camel and lots of goats during our morning yoga session.
The Paseo del Lagos campground in Temecula, California. Just two hours outside Los Angeles.
It had been a few years since I had last been camping so I needed to stock up on some gear to enjoy the 70-degree days and brave the 35 degree nights we were expected to experience. Of course, I knew I would find just the best camping gear for this trip. Backcountry.com had everything we needed. This 6-person Eureka Tent fit my sister Kelly, me, and our childhood friend Rachael with room to spread out our luggage and 3 sleeping pads. We honestly good have fit 3 more people plus our luggage this tent was so spacious. It was also over 7 feet tall which allowed all of us to stand up comfortably.
Kelly and I shared this Klymit double sleeping pad and it made all the difference for a better night’s sleep. I cannot recommend getting a sleeping pad enough! It was like sleeping on air. We also shared this Stoic double sleeping bag made for 20-degree weather. I slept in my Smart Wool layers, socks, and a hat on. These items made all the difference in sleep quality and I can honestly say I was completely comfortable and warm each night. (Keep scrolling for a code for 15% off your next Backcountry purchase!)
It’s all smiling when I’m with Ride Wild.
The candle-lighting ceremony on the first around the campfire.
The campground of over 30 tents on the edge of the lake lit up by hanging lights and the moon.
Enjoying a quiet morning in nature with my sister, Kelly.
Goat Yoga. I named my pal Henry and let him wear my Backcountry scarf as a blanket to stay warm.
Getting kisses from Jazzy the camel. My face says it all.
It was mesmerizing to see all of the camps and women coming together for this women’s campout event hosted by Ride Wild. Looking forward to the next time I get to go camping and sleeping under the stars.
