Living Room Decor Reveal
Just as I am starting to change my home decor for fall, I figured it was time to finally edit and publish photos of my living room reveal! This was actually the first room I finished decorating in my new house so it is a bit funny that I am just sharing the full reveal now. I guess my patio reveal was a bit more exciting since coming from a condo I did not have a patio before. And after my Do-It-Yourself Hutch Transformation, well, I just had to share the dining room.
One of my favorite features of this house is that when you walk through the front door, immediately you enter a welcoming, sun-filled sitting room. Puppy included. This room holds so many treasures that I have collected over the years from traveling, family members, and countless hunts at Home Goods.
The decor theme throughout the house is Art Deco which encompasses bold colors and geometric shapes. It’s my favorite era of decor and style and fits perfectly with the timeline of the house. (It was built in 1928.) Sticking to one decor theme throughout the house really helps me narrow down options and not get too eclectic in the pieces I bring home.
By beloved Society Social bar cart sits in the corner of the room under an art deco inspired mirror I bought last year. This bar cart has been featured countless times on my blog for every season. You can see all of my bar cart decorating ideas here.
I realize now I did not take a proper photo of my cabinet right next to this bar cart that doubles as a second bar station and my TV-stand. You can see a photo of it on my Instagram here.
I always like to display beverage bottles according to the season. For summer those bottles include bright colors and popular choices for summer cocktails. (P.S. I have to share my favorite margarita with you because it is just the BEST.) For now, check out my recipe for what I call the “Beyonce Cocktail.”
Up close at my bar cart. I like to collect matches from all over the world and store them in this little jar. Faux pink peonies in a blue and white vase what I’ll switch out for more seasonal colored flowers in a few days. The striped coasters I bought from West Elm years ago.
This painted Ikea shelf was one of my first home DIY projects years ago. (It comes in either black or white.) I did not put anything on the very top shelf for years, but I like the way the items up there add height to the room. My gold leopard printed bench was a purchase earlier this year right before I moved. It was just one of those pieces I kept thinking about and wanted in my home and I am so glad I took the leap to get it. You can see it styled in my previous home here.
Close up details of the shelf include a photo of Omeed and me during our trip to the Alisal Ranch last year. My Amazon Alexa hides in the corner. A chinoiserie vase because I can just never get enough of them. (See all of my favorite chinoiserie pieces here.) All of the decor you see here were finds at Home Goods except the face mask which is a souvenir from my trip to New Orleans many years ago.
Frames of my grandparents and my father in the bottom left frames, elegant playing card set with dice, and Art Deco glass boxes all from Home Goods. A hand-painted horse was a gift from China from my brother.
I always get so many compliments on this glass coffee table. It works well for small rooms because the transparency of the table makes the room seem larger. Definitely not a great option if you have children, however.
I like to change out my books according to the season. For fall and winter, I put my pastel pink books away and stick with darker colors. Flower arrangements also change. Bookends are one Item I have really come to love. These faux marble horse heads are one of 3 sets of bookends I own and were a steal for $24 at Home Goods. I always keep my eye out for horse figures and found a neat black and gold horse sculpture at the Salvation Army for $10 that I’ll be sharing with my fall home decor.
These two pieces of art contain hand-drawn sketches of me in simple, inexpensive gold frames from Michaels. The curtains are from Linens Now in the color “pearl.” It was between colored or white curtains and I am happy I went with these because they add more color into the room and bring out the gold tones in the rug.
These curtains rods were worth the investment. Although they were not that expensive, they were a bit pricier than a set I found at Home Goods. However, this set has a great strong presence that the other kind just did not have. As you can see, with the large windows, this room gets plenty of light during the day which I absolutely love.
Instead of having an actual chair in my living room, my Tov Furniture leopard bench and blue suede ottomans help to keep the space more open.

Hi Blake,
Thank you! I am so glad you like them! I’ve been trying to find a link for the rug. It was a Home Goods purchase this year by Martha Stewart’s brand.
Happy Decorating!
