JW Marriott Macro Island Recap
It was a whirlwind three days at the luxurious JW Marriott Marco Island Resort & Spa. After a VIP check-in experience thanks to Sirene, the resort’s personal concierge service, I headed to the room to discover a darling set of personalized hangers, hand soap, and a lunch box. What I loved most about the concierge service is that you can text any questions and requests and the Sirene team responds in a matter of minutes. No need to spend time calling down from your room or visiting the concierge desk.
After I unboxed the Prada tote I’ve been waiting on for days, Liz and I changed into our resort wear looks and headed out to tour the property. We had lunch in the sand at Kane’s Bar and Grill with the most delicious grilled shrimp I’ve ever had.
We walked all around the property scouting shoot locations for our photoshoot the next day. As soon as it started raining we thought we could take cover for a few minutes underneath an umbrella. But it soon turned into quite a heavy downpour. It rains on and off in Marco Island and the weather can be unpredictable. So try and wear items you don’t mind getting wet (and carry an umbrella if you do!).
We changed for dinner and I wore this sunset ombre dress with my favorite tassel tote. We caught the sunset just before dinner at Quinn’s on the Beach; and even got to watch the fire dancer who performs every evening around 8pm (weather permitting.).
Day Two and Three
The next day we went down to the water for a little yoga session followed by a buffet breakfast at Maia. Later, we discovered the adult pool located on the 5th floor of the Sirene building. It is right next to the Tesoro restaurant. It has the best views of the property and is where the first photo in this blog post was taken.
We spent the rest of the afternoon shooting the photos you see in this blog post with Dasha. Another favorite meal of mine was dinner at Ario- the resort’s premier steak house. Order the cowgirl steak. It’s been aged for 35 days at the resort and is enough for 3 people (if your order other items.). Our other favorites were the truffle mac & cheese and the shrimp risotto!
Our last morning on the property was spent at the spa for their Five Senses Massage where they take your senses on an adventure. I have to remember to allow myself more time at resort spa’s because they have so many great amenities available; such as a steam room, sauna, plunge pool and other relaxing activities that are great for your body and mind.
Something to Remember…
A note about the Jet Skis: My recommendation is to reserve them early. We didn’t and by the time the weather was finally good enough to take them out, they were all booked up. Also, be prepared to either bring your Florida Boating License with you or spend an hour reading through the booklet and taking the test! The jet skis can be reserved through the concierge, or you can visit the little hut on the beach during business hours. They mentioned a 1.5 hour, 25 mile tour through the islands that I would have loved to do. Next time!
Catch all the fun on my IG story highlights labeled “Marco Island.” And as always, thank you for following along!
