Escape to an oasis in the middle of the desert. That oasis is Joshua Tree Acres. Sitting outside a vintage 1964 airstream. 
For the ride up, Lexus loaned us the new IS sedan. It was a lot of fun to drive and made the 3-hour trip out to the desert a breeze. My favorite feature is the ability to heat and cool each front passenger seat.
I think Joshua Trees look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book. What do you think? I did not realize how sharp they are!

JOSHUA TREE ACRES RECAP
You may have noticed an influx of Joshua Trees on my posts lately. Well, that is because Taylor and I took a little adventure out to a place called Joshua Tree Acres. A set of four vintage airstreams set out in the desert with a community room, outdoor shower and an unobstructed view of the stars. Now I will be honest, I had never stayed in an airstream before and it was quite a surreal experience walking into one. It was as if I had traveled back in time to the 1970’s. Do you ever feel that when you walk into old buildings or see vintage artifacts? Such a trip, isn’t it?
The nearest town is about 5 miles away and the only thing that surrounds Joshua Tree Acres are the mountains, stars, and a few more properties off in the distance. We had stocked up on groceries at the nearby Walmart in Yucca Valley and spent the afternoon taking photos for my Coachella series.
As the sun started to set we caught the most beautiful golden hour. From there, the temperatures quickly dropped so we headed to the Joshua Tree Acres communal area that has both an indoor and outdoor kitchen area. There is even a pizza oven, old record player, a guitar and a few more vintage books.
My only wish is that it had been a bit warmer when we went in March. Temperatures dropped to 40 degrees at night and the winds during the day were unruly. There will definitely be a difference when we go back to Joshua Tree Acres in June! I’ll finally be able to take a nap in the hammocks, enjoy the outdoor shower or even a bath under the stars!
