How to Get Shiny Healthy Hair

I have always wanted shiny healthy hair so now I’m going to put in the effort to make that dream a reality! I’m changing up my haircare routine for spring and finally giving my hair the TLC it deserves! It was perfect timing when L’Oréal® approached me about a collaboration because I was looking for affordable products from Walgreens I wouldn’t be afraid of using up too quickly!

I took the L’Oréal Paris Elvive quiz here to determine which products would best fit my needs of getting shiny healthy hair. My result is Level 3 which recommends the Elvive Extraordinary Oil. This product is super lightweight, non-greasy, and helps disguise my split-ends. Hey, we all have them. My hair is naturally dry and curly so just a little touch of this oil instantly gives my hair a soft and silky boost. I don’t color my hair (yet-thankfully), however, I do use heat tools regularly resulting in dryness, split-ends, and breakage. Using the Extraordinary Oil either when my hair is damp or dry helps to give it an overall polish. Within one use, I could see the shine it brought back to my ends. Hurray!

When my hair is wet, I apply a dime size amount throughout the mid to ends of my hair and either let dry or blow-dry. When my hair is dry and after I’ve styled it, I like to apply a dime size amount to the ends of my hair for a finishing touch. Then I take the very last bit of product remaining on my hands and use it to just smooth down my fly-aways at the top of my head. Less is more with this oil. You don’t need very much to achieve a nice shine.

While I was at Walgreens, I also picked up the Elvive Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge because I like that it is a leave-in conditioner that I do not have to wash out. Who wants to get out of the shower with the product in their hair and have to get back in the shower 15 minutes later? The answer is, not me. This product I can leave in my hair to help strengthen it while I go about my routine. I would also like to add that the Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge is a heat protectant that protects hair up to 450 degrees! So it’s a great product if you regularly use hot tools.
