What a fun way to spend an afternoon with a picnic in the poppy fields with your girlfriends. We loaded up the car and drove about an hour northeast of Los Angeles. When we finally made it to Lancaster it felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere. We had faith in our wi-fi GPS until it stopped working but luckily ran right into the poppy field park. We arrived mid-afternoon and actually had to wait until the sun started to set before we took any photos. The sun was just too harsh mid-day, but once the golden hour hit it was absolutely beautiful.
I had picked out this gingham ruffle dress specifically for this occasion paired with sequin petal earring and a sun hat. (Who knew that Nordstrom carries J.Crew now?!) I’ve linked a few more of my favorite gingham dresses below since they make such a perfect summer ensemble.
Next, I would love to visit the Lompoc and the Carlsbad flower fields. Just a few more things to put on my ever growing bucket list! In case you want to see how to throw a picnic style party at home, check out my post on hosting a Garden Party!
Happy Monday!
