The other day I was telling someone that Christmas is my favorite holiday. It always has been, but the reasons why this is have changed as I’ve gotten older. As a kid it was because of the same reason that any kids will tell you- presents under the tree!! As a teenager it was because we got time off from school. Then of course there are Christmas cookies, movies and songs that have always brought back fond memories. (I still watch Home Alone and Elf ten times every December.)
Now that I’m older, I realize Christmas is my favorite simply because of the holiday spirit that’s all around. People just seem to be extra happy this time of year and I love that. We spend more time with family and friends, forgive past woes and look forward to the New Year. Whether they are stuck in long lines to check out, hauling a heavy tree, or swamped with an endless to-do list, just tell them “Merry Christmas!” and watch their face light up. I hope that no matter what any of you are going through, that the spirit of the holidays can bring a smile to your face and love into your life.
And since this is still a fashion blog, let’s talk fashion, shall we? There is nothing quite like a full skirt for the holidays.
