Laura Lily - Fashion, Travel and Lifestyle Blog, A Stop in Solvang,

A few weeks ago my friends and I decided to take a little road trip up the Califnoria coast. One of the many weekend getaway opportunities I never take for granted living in this state. You can just load up the car and within 2 hours you’re in another beautiful city with plenty to explore. Or first stop on the trip was a little Danish inspired town of Solvang. Known for their pastries, windmills and Danish inspired architecture. It is amazing, you arrive and immediately feel like you’ve been dropped off in Denmark.

I had been to Solvang years ago (see embarrassing outfit throwback here.) On this trip, Liz, Danny, and I walked around for an hour checking out local shops and lunch at a little cafe. My favorite part was seeing the horse drawn carriage. I have a thing for horses and these two cuties were no exception. There are two main streets in Solvang. The main street that brings you in and out of town and then a smaller back street with tons of little shops. I recommend parking the car (there is plenty of free parking) and exploring on foot.

For all you fellow camera nerds out there, I shot these photos with a Canon 7D with a 24-55 mm lens . It was my first time using this camera so I took about 300 photos to practice with different settings. #PracticeMakesPerfect. Funny story- my first time using my first camera, a Canon T3i, was also in Solvang 3 years ago.  Danny was kind enough to shoot the first photo of Liz and I.  You can see another look I wore during our road trip here when we stopped in Santa Barbara.

Thanks for stopping by,
Laura
