You may have seen some fall colors on my Instagram this past weekend and some very non-LA weather. Brian and I took a trip up to Seattle to visit friends and check out a new city. I had never been to Seattle before and it is always such a joy to get to experience a new place. Last year we went to Chicago so we decided to go up north this year.
On Saturday we walked along the famous Pike Place Market while snacking on fresh sugary donuts and Starbucks coffee- naturally. I could not believe the line outside the original Starbucks. Luckily there was one just down the street so that I could get my pumpkin spice latte fix. I officially had one every day last week. #addicted
Had to get the tourist Starbucks photo.
My little buddy, Forest, at Pike Place Market.
After the market we toured the Experience Music Project museum and strolled through the park. This may have been my favorite part. Oh how I miss the beautiful autumn leaves and their vibrant colors! Growing up in Minnesota, fall was always my favorite time of year. Even though I live in Los Angeles now and we do not technically have a “fall” season, it makes me appreciate these types of things when we travel.
Just a few guitars at the Experience Music Project museum.
One of my favorite things to do while traveling is visit vintage shops in search of a one-of-a-kind souvenir to take home with me. Somehow I managed to walk out of 4 vintage stores without purchasing anything. That NEVER HAPPENS. I almost went home with this fabulous hat with rhinestone detailing and a feather on top. I decided not to buy it at the last minute and here is the reason why: When you text your girlfriends a photo and all they write back is “interesting” you know it is time to walk away.
My outfits for the trip were a mix of stylish and comfortable. I wore my new gray trench coat, my favorite gray fedora, and my DUO boots in preparation of rain – which there barely was any. The second day it had warmed up a bit so I was able to wear this awesome shearling moto jacket and black cap.
On our last day I finally went up the Space Needle, because apparently that is just something you do while you are in Seattle. It was a bit cloudy, but it was still a great view. We also took the Red Light 21+ Underground tour our first night there which I highly recommend. Turns out the city is sinking and the original city is below the city streets! The only thing I wish we would have gotten to visit was the glass museum. I guess we’ll just have to go again!
FYI: All photos were taken with my iPhone because carrying around a DSLR camera all day while you are touring gets to be very heavy and annoying.
