At a Shop for Success charity fundraiser I attended late last year, designer labels were 70% off and 100% of the proceeds went to charity. Honestly, I was overwhelmed with the amount of items in the store and it only grew more crowded by the minute. I saw a little purple piece out of the corner of my eye, but with my hands already full I let it go and walked away. I mentioned it to Liz as we were standing in line to pay and she asked to see it. So I went back and grabbed it. As soon as I picked it off the rack I fell in love with it. It looked so similar to my little white faux fur jacket that I love so much. Only this piece was a bit out of my price range. I decided to carry it around with me while shopping a bit more before putting it back. I swear while I was holding it, five different people commented on it. Three asked me to hand it to them if I decided to change my mind and one told me I was the “lucky one who grabbed it before she could.” I thought, of all the things in the store, should I splurge on the one everyone wants? Since the event was for charity (100% of the proceeds benefitted Shop For Success) I decided to spurge and take the jacket home with me.
Now I am not normally one to wear real fur, just faux. Everyone has their opinions and that is fine. Before buying it I did a little research online and found out that lambs fur is similar to cow hide in that it is a by product. I’m not going to go around advertising that I bought an actual fur coat, but if you own anything leather you’re in the same boat. I hesitated to write about this jacket- but I’m an honest person, it’s a beautiful coat, and am though I might as well help educate anyone willing to have an open mind.

Well written, and a gorgeous coat! I think it was worth the splurge! And that’s good to know about the byproducts, I didn’t think of that!
These pics are so pretty!!
