Brian and I spent a weekend in Chicago celebrating his birthday. I fell in love with the city. I love that it is a mix of New York, the Midwest, and Los Angeles. It’s got the big city feel of NYC, the people are all down to earth and Midwest nice, and there are trees and parks everywhere just like LA. We were lucky to have Brian’s cousin Peter as our host. A person who knows that city in and out and all the best places to visit. Not to mention we got to stay on the 45th floor of a high rise where the view was not too shabby.
On our first day, we took a walk through the Zoo- which is free by the way. I didn’t actually plan my leopard top to coincide with our plans that day. It just kind of happened. I don’t know why Brian lets me take the lead on direction. I had us go the wrong way, missed train stops, and walked right past the building we were looking for.
For dinner we ate at one of the best restaurants in Chicago- Longman & Eagle. Amazing food and not at all expensive. Chicago’s restaurant prices are amazing for the quality of food you get. I highly recommend the cauliflower and lentil dish at Longman. They always have it and it is amazing! The rest of the night was spent bar hopping and trying cocktail concoctions. Luckily Brian and I were on Cali time so staying out until 3am only felt like 1am to us 🙂
Looking forward to sharing more of my Chicago experiences with you all!
Thank you for reading my blog,

A walk through Lincoln Park.
They had fun horse sculptures all throughout the city to commemorate the Chicago Equestrian police force. I couldn’t help but show some love to my favorite horse.
The most beautiful town homes complete with creative pumpkins. Thankfully these Sam Edelman boots allowed me to walk miles in the city without getting sore feet.
