Brian took me to Catalina Island for my birthday and it could not have been a better day. I had the most fun I think I have ever had on my birthday. We got up early and took the 8am boat to Avalon to get a full day in. The Catalina Express gave me a ribbon to wear so all day strangers were wishing me happy birthday. It was nice. I slept the entire boat ride there and back. Luckily, I fall asleep very easily and sleep like a rock.
We had the best iced coffees at Lloyds then toured the Catalina Casio. In case you didn’t know- Casino is Italian for “place of gathering.” However after Las Vegas become popular with all of their casinos, people now only think of gambling when they hear the word. After the tour we picked up food at an italian deli, rented a kayak and paddled out to our own private beach to eat lunch. Our plan was to only be out there for an hour, snorkel a bit and head back. It was so nice to have our own little picnic on the beach that we stayed there for over 3 hours.
For dinner we ate at my favorite restaurant on the Island- their day old pasta is amazing. For dessert- mint chocolate chip ice cream and a carmeled apple for the boat ride home.
It’s amazing how close Catalina Island is and how it is its own little paradise. The island is only two hours away by boat and I highly suggest you make the time to take a trip out there. It is the perfect little get away.

The famous casino on Avalon. Opened in 1929 and home to a gigantic ballroom and movie theater.
It can get a bit chilly on the island with a cool breeze. Luckily for us it was a hot summer day. I wore my purple mini skirt and a Cotton On sweater with a tank underneath for when it warmed up. You can rent a locker to put your items in while you visit the island. I always like a blanket or warm jacket for the boat ride home. It really cools down by the water.

We found this beautiful little alleyway to take my outfit photos in. It even had an ocean view. A stranger took this photo of us and it turned out absolutely beautifully. This is a rare moment for us to be caught in PDA on camera. Enjoy. 🙂
