DIY BOW PUMPS TUTORIAL
Ever since I laid eyes on my very own pair of Aminah Abdul Jillil Pink Bow Pumps I wanted a pair in black. Since I am on a budget (and recently spend my shopping money on a certain Torn by Ronny Kobo dress) I have resorted to doing a bow pumps DIY project. This project is super simple and allows you to wear your beloved heels with or without a giant bow.
These Ivanka Trump heels were bought on major sale during my shopping trip to Desert Hills Premium Outlet. I actually had this exact DIY bow pumps idea in mind when I purchased the shoes. I had done a similar cap-toe DIY project and wanted to add a little glitter to these heels too. What do you think?
DIY BOW PUMPS – WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
-shoes
-scissors
-ribbon (any color) at least 12 inches long
For the glitter cap-toe you’ll need:
-glue
-masking tape
-glitter
-newspaper
-paint brush or sponge
Step One for the cap-toe: Lay down newspaper and get your supplies together. Use the tape to perfectly line where the glue will go. Start with one shoe at a time. Apply glue with a sponge, paint brush or your finger.
Once evenly spread, apply glitter. Let try for at least an hour.
Carefully peel off the tape when the glue is either still wet or completely dry.
For the bow: make sure your ribbon is long enough to wrap around your ankle and tie in a bow. Put the shoe on, clasp the buckle, then tie the ribbon around your ankle. Make a knot with the ribbon around the buckle to hide it, and then tie your bow.
